**Installation, Safe Use and Maintenance Instructions**
IMPORTANT: Please read for important information. In this material we have tried to provide some requirements stated in the CPSC Handbooks, ASTM F2373-11, F1487-11 and F1148-09. However, we in no way intend for this to be a complete list of requirements. Also these publications are updated frequently with changes therefore, you should read these publications yourself to determine if any part or installation could prove a danger to a child.
To help keep children safe from harm, review installation and maintenance instructions before installing equipment. All products are tested for lead, phthalates and tensile strength. You can also call us at 1-800-227-7529 for more information or see http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/pubs/325.pdf.
Installation: Our parts are sold as either replacement parts or components of a set, unless you are buying our Metal Frame Set, therefore these parts need to be installed according to the sets installation instructions. If the installation instructions differ from ours please contact us at 800-227-7529.
If your swing set has a single beam across the top, you may need to install a GS glider support. This will produce a four point mounting system. The flat piece with one hole goes on top of the beam with the two holes bolted flush against the beam. You will need to drill holes into the beam in order to install the bolts. This assembly comes with two ½” x 3” lag bolts and the top bolt. If bolt is too short to go through wood, you will need to purchase a longer bolt, or recess the nut. This bolt needs to go through the beam from the top of the bean and have a nylock nut attached to it on the bottom of the beam. Make sure nut is tight and not more than two threads of bolt are protruding beyond nut. Make sure you use washers if installing on wood frame. If you are installing this on a pipe, then you would need to drill a hole through the pipe and put a bolt through the pipe and the glider support. If the bolt supplied is too long, you will need to purchase a shorter bolt, so that no more than two threads are showing beyond the nut. You will also need to purchase ½” bolts, sufficiently long enough to go through pipe and have a nylock nut attached with no more than two threads showing beyond the nut.
Do the same at the top of glider support and at the two holes on the side. Four two and half inch hangers will go through the four end holes. The nuts should be attached on the top of the assembly with the swing hangers at the bottom of the assembly. The spring clips should be attached to the swing hangers and then attached to the glider. Make sure all hardware is tightened tight and closed according to Figure A1.19 for Fastening Devices.
Safe Use: This is for children 5 – 12 years old only. Adults should supervise children at all times. Do not allow children to use unsafely. Do not allow it to be used if damaged.
Maintenance: At beginning and end of each play season and once a month during play season, check for rust, sharp edges and/or cracks. Check for vandalism. Check for worn or rusty chain. Check to make sure spring clips and swing hangers are closed properly and not worn. Replace parts if necessary.
